Before After School.

A calm place for children up to age 10 to start and end the school day.

A smiling boy in a blue shirt sits on a red plastic slide with his arms outstretched.

Before After School

Supporting the growth of elementary students.

Children up to age 10 get a comfortable place to gear up before school and relax after class. The program is built around their changing interests, so the day fits what they are into right now. Some children want practice setting mindful goals. Some want to finish homework. Some arrive hungry and need breakfast before the bell.

Join us in the morning.

Each morning begins with a calm, mindful routine that helps set your child up for success. Children who are short on time can also grab breakfast on the go. It fuels their mind and gives them a smart start to the school day.

Wind down after class.

After school, children spend time with their U-GRO friends. They play outside, eat healthy snacks, and get the fresh air and exercise that helps them reset. It is a relaxed end to a structured day.

Focus on homework.

Educators are on hand as a resource when children tackle schoolwork at the end of the day. A well-stocked school supplies station means the pencil, the glue stick, and the ruler are already there. Children get that accomplished feeling of a job well done.

Grow your skills.

STEM projects are always available, ready to spark your child's imagination. Children explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math at their own pace. Along the way they build problem-solving and critical thinking skills that carry into the classroom.

Parent technology.

You know what your child is up to every step of the way. Regular updates about classroom activities come through the SproutAbout app. The app also features live streaming video, so you can look in during the day.

What this looks like in practice

In a school-age room, the day has two distinct halves. Mornings are quieter: children arrive, settle in, eat if they are hungry, and ease toward the school bus or the walk to class. Afternoons are louder and looser. Children come in from their school day, drop their bags, play outside, eat a snack, and then choose what comes next, whether that is homework, a STEM project, or time with friends.

The practical benefit shows up at home. A child who has eaten, run around, and finished homework at the center comes home with less to do and less to argue about. The evening can be about dinner and rest instead of a last-minute scramble for supplies and a lost worksheet. That steadiness is what parents tend to notice first.
