Tour the room
Come see the classroom your child would join. Meet the teachers who run it. Ask them anything about the day, the room, or how they handle the first weeks. Then take your time deciding.
Enroll and settle in
Complete enrollment and plan a first week that suits your child's routine. Tuition must be paid in advance to qualify, and enrollment is on a space available basis. Ask us what you need to bring. Families new to U-Gro can ask about the September enrollment discount.
What to have ready
Most families fill out enrollment forms before the first day. You will also need a health form and immunization record for your child. Have your emergency contacts and the names of people allowed to pick up your child ready. Ask the school which forms they need from you.
Pack a full change of clothes, labeled with your child's name. Add outdoor gear for the season, so your child can go outside in any weather. Nap items and a comfort object help the day go smoothly. Label everything.
Decide who will drop off and who will pick up, and make sure both are on your authorized list. Talk with your child's teacher about how you want to hear about the day. A short plan for the first morning makes drop-off easier for everyone.
The first weeks
The first days often start shorter, so your child can get used to the room and the rhythm. Bring a familiar object from home if that helps. A teacher greets your child by name at the door. You can call during the day to check in.
At pickup, teachers tell you how your child ate, slept, played, and rested. They share what your child noticed, tried, or enjoyed that day. Most children settle into the routine within a few weeks. Tell the teacher what would help.

Can we visit before deciding?
Families decide by walking the rooms, so a tour is the surest way to choose. Children can come along and see the spaces, the books, and the toys for themselves.
What should my child bring on the first day?
